Nathan P. France was first a school teacher in Boonville, Indiana and then a minister, ordained in 1901 in the United Brethren in Christ Church (later the United Brethren Church). He held pastorships in 15 communities in the southern two-thirds of Indiana until his retirement in Anderson in 1939. He was active in the church conference holdings numerous committee and leadership offices, and tutored newly-ordained ministers and candidates in several subjects.
