Jack was born June 28, 1927, in Providence, R.I., the son of the late Thomas and Anna McCaffrey. Jack proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II as a seaman first class. He was a graduate of Brown University, Class of 1950. He retired after 40 years from Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. as an executive manager. A resident of Somers, Connecticut for forty-five years, he served the town as a justice of the peace, a member of the town committee, chairman and member of the Library Board, and member of the Republican Town Committee. He loved riding horses and was an active member of the Reddington Rock Riding Club in Stafford Springs.
He was also a member of Buck - Dubiel Post No. 101, of The American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), AMVETS and the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Burial took place on Saturday, November 5, 2011, with full military honors (U.S. Navy Honor Guard).
