Sam was my maternal grandfather. He was a hard-working baker his entire life and an excellent provider for his family. When we were little he would bake us loafs of bread and cookies in the shape of animals. And whenever he visited he always gave me a dollar which bought a lot of penny candies in 1970. He was the father of two daughters, my Aunt Carol and my mom Sandra. He married Fay Dworkin in 1935 until her death in 1965 and remarried Evelyn (whom we called Aunt Evelyn) in 1968.
