Margaret "Peggy" Vincent was the youngest daughter of Christina Elizabeth Nicolle and Charles J. Vincent.

She was born on the Bailiwick of Guernsey, Channel Islands in 1901 and emigrated with her parents in November 1908. The family crossed the ocean on the RMS Tunisian, landing in St. Johns, Newfoundland. From there, they traveled down the St. Lawrence to Windsor, Ontario and crossed into the USA, ultimately settling in Lansing, Michigan. When asked for the reason the family chose Lansing, they would respond: "Because that's where the jobs are".

She married Martin Henry Bliven in July 1920. Martin and Peggy were next door neighbors in Lansing. They were divorced in 1921. they were the parents of a son, Charles Vincent Bliven.

Unfortunately, Margaret died of complications of Thyroid Disease in 1931 at the young age of 30.

OBITUARY:
Mrs. Margaret Bliven

Mrs. Margaret Bliven, 29, of 808 Center street, died Wednesday morning at a local hospital following several weeks' illness. She was an employee of the Reo Motor Car company. Besides the son, Charles, she is survived by the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vincent, at whose home she resided; three brothers, Herbert and Frank, both of Detroit, and James, of Lansing, and three sisters, Mrs Ivy DeVaney, Mrs. Kathleen Wilkinson, and Mrs. Dorothy Siefert, all of Lansing. Funeral services will be held from the home of the parents to St Mary's church at 10 o'clock Saturday morning. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.
