A Genealogical Record states Annie was born February 17, 1887, but her grave stone states 1885.
Anis got married April 21, 1904 at the age of 15. She crawled out of a window to marry William Staebell against per parent's wishes and was not allowed to come home unless she came back through the window she left by. Anis finally did that when her Mother was very ill. All was reconciled several years later.
Anis and William raised their children on Westwood Road in the Town of Alden, New York. They were farmers.
Anis Staley is a descendent of Jan Louwe Bogert born 1630 in Holland, one of the Patentees of the Town of New Harlem, New York.
