Army Medic. Killed in action from small arms fire. Son of Ludwig and Juletta (Kern) Wandler. He was a member of the United States Army serving as a Specialist Four with Company B, 3rd Battalion, 22nd infantry. He entered military service in 1965, and was ordered to Vietnam in September of 1966. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Republic of Vietnam Service Medal and the Purple Heart Medal. His name appears on Panel 14E, Row 065 of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C. Brother to Jeanetta Applebury, Joetta, Bernard, Eugene, Ronald and Cletus Wandler. Grandson of Cyriak and Margaret Heidt Wandler.
