A MEMORIAL - Bergen Belsen Memorial, 1940-1945

Situated in Lüneburg Heath, Germany, the memorial is located on the grounds of the former Nazi POW (Prisoner of War) and concentration camp Bergen-Belsen. The camp stands in testament to memory of the more then a 100000 whom died there between 1940 to 1945. Within the compounds, there is document center, museum, mass grave monolith and the Jewish Monument erected on April 15, 1946, the first anniversary of the camp's liberation by the British Army. Also there is a memory marker to Holocaust Diarist Anne Frank and her sister Margot whom died in the camp and are buried in an unmarked mass grave on the grounds.
