Lucien Fournier July 26, 1920 - October 29, 2012 Plainfield - Lucien Fournier, 92, of Connecticut Drive, husband of Doris (Barry) Fournier passed away on Monday, October 29th. He was born in Occum on July 26, 1920 a son of the late Omer and Marie Rose (Vezina) Fournier. On April 11, 1946 he was married to Doris Barry at St. John the Apostle Parish in Plainfield. In October 1940 he joined the U.S. Navy and was assigned to the USS Hovey as a radio man with a home port of Pearl Harbor and was later transferred to the USS Kenton. Lou spent six years in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1946. He worked at Pervel Industries and at Federal Paper Board where he retired after 25 years of service. Lou was an original member of the Plainfield VFW Post # 5446 and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus as well as an avid NY Yankee and New England Patriots fan. Besides his wife he is survived by his seven children, Ken (Donna) Fournier of Canterbury, Neil (Janice) Fournier of Anaheim, CA. Robert Fournier of Danielson, Nancy (Tom) Frank of Edgewater, MD, Jane (John) Malone of Lisbon, Don (Brenda) Fournier of Plainfield and Andy (Teri) Fournier of Canterbury, eighteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers & sisters. A memorial funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Apostle Parish, Plainfield followed by burial with military honors in St. John Cemetery.
