Helen M. Covert, 75, formerly of Shade Gap, died at 8:30 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2010, at Woodland Retirement Community, Orbisonia.

Born April 21, 1935, in Burnt Cabins, she was a daughter of the late Bertes and Mabel Irene (Snyder) Lake. She was united in marriage to Janvier R. "Jimmy" Covert April 23, 1955, in Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church by Rev. Belvy White. He preceded her in death June 18, 2010.

She is survived by a son and daughter, Kenneth Covert and wife Brenda, Cassville, and Robin Peterson and husband Alan, Shade Gap; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Carl Lake, Landisburg, and Christine Reihart, Saltillo.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Doyle.

She was a member of Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap, where at one time she served as a Sunday school teacher and a missionette leader.

During her life, she was a homemaker.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, at Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap. Rev. Karey Schaffer officiated. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap.
