"Michael Dee Isom, 55 years old of Rockwood, Texas and formerly of Ennis, Texas packed his duffel bag for his final game on November 1, 2012. He is now playing Middle Line backer with His Lord as coach. Once again, he is on a winning team with the angels and saints.

"He was greeted by his father, G. W. "Buck" Isom, who cheered him on from the sidelines, along with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Snell and Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Isom.

"He was born October 28, 1957 in Ennis, Texas. He graduated from Ennis High School in 1975 and proudly played for the Ennis Lions as Middle Linebacker. He was very competitive and a feared opponent and proved it along with his other teammates as they brought to Ennis in 1974 the 3A state football championship.

"He will be missed by all those of us who loved him. Remaining to join his winning heavenly team, are his sons, Andrew Isom of San Angelo, Texas and Hunter Isom of Ennis, Texas; his mother Laura Jean Isom, of San Angelo Texas, formerly of Ennis, Texas; and his two brothers, Larry and wife, Donna of Big Lake, Texas and Garry and his wife, Melissa of Ingram, Texas.

"Also missing his earthly presence will be his nephews and their families Gerald Isom , Matthew Isom, Zakary Isom and one neice, Katy Curry and family. He will be fondly remembered and missed by Renee Isom and Brad Newberry. Uncle Tommy Isom and his wife Peggy.

"The family wishes to thank the staff of Coleman County Hospital for the excellent care given to Mike during his illness.

"Graveside services will be Monday, November 5, 2012 at Myrtle Cemetery at 2 p. m. with Rev. Patrick Bennett officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Walker Funeral Home."
