Donald Ray Aliff
Donald Ray Aliff, 65, of Glen Daniel, died Monday,
Sept. 11, 2000, in a Beckley hospital following a long
illness.
Born April 2, 1935, in Eccles, he was the son of the
late Frank and Helen Faye Bennett Aliff.
Mr. Aliff spent his childhood at Eccles and lived in
Hammond, Ind., for 20 years retiring to Lester in 1984.
He last worked as a security guard for Tony Coal Mine.
He was a member of the First Church of God at Lester
and enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte
Nancy Steele Aliff; a son, Howard Aliff; and a sister,
Pauline Aliff.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Aliff of Ec-
cles and Judy Aliff of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Michael
Aliff of Glen Daniel; a grandson, Michael Allen Wayne
Aliff; a daughter-in-law, Amy Aliff of Kansas City, Kan.;
two sisters, Helen Alberty of Eccles and Joetta Smith
of Monticello, Ind.; and a brother, Norman Aliff and his
wife, Judy, of Meadow Bridge.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Melton Mortuary
Chapel, with the Rev. Dale Birchfield officiating. Burial
will follow in Calfee Cemetery, Mt. Tabor Road, Beck-
ley.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral
home.
