Richard R. "Dick" Snyder, 88, of Bloomington died Saturday (Nov. 3, 2012) at Martin Health Center, Bloomington.

He was born March 4, 1924 in Bloomington, the son of Roy Joseph and Sabina M. Reardon Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alice Snyder and Corona Mary Cox; three nephews, Joseph, Tommy and Bobby Cox; a niece, Ann Kahn and three brothers-in-law, Merwin (Mary Jane) Wonderlin, Clifford Williams and Aaron Meiner.

He married Leta E. Wonderlin Grove on Feb. 10, 1947 in Bloomington. She survives. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, John (Lynn) Cox, Patty (Mike) Nelson, Michael Cox, Wayne (Barbara) Williams, Denise (Gary) Wilson, Tony (Lynda) Cox, Randy (Marilyn) Cox, Cathy Martin, Susie Johnson, Pamela (Dennis) Cox Mills, Pamela Meiner, Lonnie (Paula) Meiner, Curtis (Vicky) Meiner, Dorothy Woodworth, Laura Walden, Arlone (Steve) Folkers and William (Linda) Wonderlin; 49 great-nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law, Fleta Meiner, Ida B. Williams and Eleanor (Delmar) Walden.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, attaining the rank of sergeant.
