Argent Edwards Goodman was the daughter of Lorenzo Dowe Edwards and Permelia Eveline Williams. She was a tragic figure in family history..........After a great wrong was committed against her, she married Henry Goodman and moved to Tipton, Tennessee. She was the mother of Jessie V Edwards, William Goodman (died as a child) , Ardis Goodman, Henry Goodman. Most of her family cut themselves off from her. She cut herself off from her sisters after excessive verbal and emotional abuse done to her by the community and some of her Edwards kin. Her immediate family members burned all evidence of her existence. Urged on by her youngest sister, my great grandmother, Permelia Eveline Kirksey at least 3 generations of Edwards, Kirksey's, Hamblett's have searched for this lost Aunt and to atone for a great injustice committed against her. She had one child that was born when she died. It is believed that this child was adopted by the Sherrod Allen Family of Covington Tn (Child named William Lee Allen. Ardis was sent to live with the Faul family and she later married into the Schrock family of Ohio. Of Henry Jr we have no trail or news.
