Frances Josephine Chamblee Adams, 83, of Baxter Springs, Kansas, was reunited with her husband in the arms of God on December 1, 2004, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Frances Josephine Adams was born April 30, 1921, in Isabelle, Oklahoma, to William G. and Jessie Jordan Chamblee. She had lived in the area since 1946. Mrs. Adams was a member of the First United Methodist Church, of Baxter Springs, a member of Baxter Springs Country Club and Elks Lodge in Joplin. She was also active in the bridge clubs in both organizations.
Frances and Ralph Edward Adams were united in marriage on September 7, 1946, in Fayetteville, Ark. He preceded her in death November 5, 2002. Frances and Ralph were owner and operators of the Blue Castle Restaurant in Baxter Springs from 1947 until 1980.
Survivors include her children, Ralph Edward Adams Jr. "Eddie" of Baxter Springs, Becky Tidmore, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Nancy Rushner and husband Alan of Rochester, Minn. A sister, Nancy Jane Huddleston of Fayetteville, Ark. four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel in Baxter Springs. Dr. Kent Scott will officiate. Mrs. Adams has been cremated.
