The husband of Nellie Elizabeth Hahn, they married July 7 1920 in Thurmont, Frederick County, MD. The son of Charles H. and Harriet Ann Sophia Grabill. He was eight years old when his father was killed while working for the Western Maryland Rail Road.

They had no children.

Charles W. Grable, 53, of Smithsburg Route 2, died this morning at 6:20 at the Camp Ritchie Hospital. He had been in failing health since December 1949.
He was born at Thurmont, Md., son of the late Charles and Harriet Grable.
Mr. Grable spent the early part of his life in Thurmont and moved to his present residence 25 years ago.
He was employed at the Waynesboro Brass Fondry, the Rouzerville Foundry and was last employed at the hospital at Camp Ritchie.
He was a member of the Blue Mountain Church of God. Also a member of Joe Stickell Post No. 15, American Legion, Waynesboeo.
Mr. Grable was a veteran of World War 1. He enlisted June 10,1917 at Columbus Barracks, Ohio at the age of 20. He served with the Wagoner Supply Troop, 13th Cavalry. He was discharged August 25, 1919.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nellie E. (Hahn) Grable; stepson, Robert C. Hahn, Smithsburg Route 2; sister, Mrs. Lizzie Ridenhour, Thurmont; brothers. Harry, George and Ray all of Thurmont, Also three step grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Blue Mountain Church of God in charge of Rev. Clarence McGaha. Interment will be made in Bethel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Poe Funeral Home Saturday afternoon and evening from 4 until 9 and on Sunday at the church from 2 o'clock until the hour of service.
