Went to Heaven to meet his Lord on November 5, 2012. Born on March 29, 1930, to Khalil and Heni Raad in Lebanon, he immigrated with his family to Lansing in 1969, to provide a better life for them. In 1956, Elias married his life-long love, Fayrouz, who was by his side as he drifted off to be with the Lord. He was a loving father to his devoted children, son Khalil (Dalida), daughter, Lina (Scott) Sandler, son, Nabil, and son James (Danielle); precious grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica, Gabriella, Giselle and Fairah; brother Gebran and Sister-in-Law, Nejla Nassura. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who he cherished his whole life. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Zarka and Almaza Zarka brothers, Sijaan and Sleiman Raad. He was a devoted life-long member of the St Joseph Melkite Church of Lansing and a servant of God who devoted his life to his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a caring and humble husband, father and grandfather. He loved Sunday dinners with his family, his flower and vegetable gardens. His door was always open to his family and friends. The Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Elias Eid as celebrant. Rite of committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel, 6020 W. Saginaw where the Trisagion Prayers will be recited at 7:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Melkite Church of Lansing in his memory.
