Bernard F. Schaefer, 54, of Woxall, Montgomery County, died Friday, May 12, at home. He was the husband of Virginia L. (Piledggi) Schaefer for 29 years.
He was a sixth-grade teacher at Oak Park Elementary School, Lansdale. Previously, he taught in the North Penn School District for over 32 years and was a recipient of the school district's Senior Choice Award.
Schaefer was a graduate of Bloomsburg University.
Born in Easton, he was a son of Frank and Ruth (Scheetz) Schaefer of Ocala, Fla.
He was a member of St. Philip Neri Church, Pennsburg.
Schaefer was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Wilkes-Barre Counsel. He was vice president of the Upper Perkiomen Sportsman's Club, a member of the Souderton/Harleysville Fish and Game Association and the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.
Survivors: Wife and parents; son, Joshua B. of Kingston; daughter, Amanda L. at home; brother, Douglas of Allentown and sister, Kathleen Muir of Duluth, Ga.
Mass: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Call 7-9 p.m. Monday and 9:30-10:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, 667 Harleysville Pike, Franconia.
