Born October 17, 1942 in Lexington, he was the son of the late Bill and Mary May Collins (Henderson) Burns, was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, an active member of the American Legion Post #345 in Stanford, KY where he served as Vice Commander for several years and was an employee of the Sleepy Head House both in Lexington and in Nicholasville, KY. Survivors other than his wife Gussie Faye Howard Burns include: one sister Brenda (Donald) Wilson of Crab Orchard, KY; one step son, Darrell (Hattie) Keeling of Versailles, KY; one step daughter, Debra Suzanne (Michael) Buck of Johnstown, TN; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step daughter, Dianne Simpson and a step brother, Robert Burns.
There will be no funeral services or visitation at this time, a memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY.
