Keith S Nichols, 78, of Spartansburg RD 2, died Monday, March 27, 1995, in Tampa Hospital, Tampa, Florida. Mr Nichols was born May 4, 1916, at Trimms Corners, Warren County, a son of the late Amasa and Myrtle May Nichols. He was raised and educated in the Spartansburg area, graduating from Spartansburg High School in 1934. He worked for Talon Zipper Mfg Co in Meadville and, during World War II, he was employed at Aero Supply Co in Corry. Shortly after, he owned and operated a farm equipment business in Cambridge Springs. He then returned to the family dairy farm in Trimms Corners. In 1963, he became partners in Tommy-Nichols, Inc in Union City which was a Dodge and farm machinery dealership. He worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture in 1972, serving as regional director. He retired from there in 1980. He was a lifetime member of the National Farmers Organization and the Farmers Union. He enjoyed flying airplanes, having his private license since 1938. He owned a small plane which he frequently took off and landed on his Trimms Corners farm. During World War II, he was in the Civil Air Patrol. He was an avid reader. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, 1st Lt Colin Nichols, July 20, 1966, who was killed in action during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Edith Goodwill Nichols, whom he married April 19, 1941, in Jamestown, NY; a daughter, a son, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home in Spartansburg...Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg.
