CORNELIUS HERR

Cornelius J. Herr, 78, a lifelong resident of the Town of Meeme, died Thursday afternoon, March 18, at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, where he had been a patient for the past week.
Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Monday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Isadore Catholic Church, Osman. The Rev. Wilbert Buhl, a nephew, of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aurora, Wis., will officiate at the concelebrated Mass and burial will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Town of Meeme.

Mr. Herr was born Aug. 30, 1903, in the Town of Meeme, son of the late Frank and Catherine Seipel Herr. He attended St. Fidelis Catholic School, Town of Meeme. He married Lucida Woelfel Nov. 15, 1927, at St. Martin Catholic Church, Charlestown. After their marriage, the couple farmed the Herr homestead farm in the Town of Meeme, until their retirement in 1967. Mr. Herr was a member of St. Isadore Catholic Church, Osman, Holy Name Society, Catholic Knights, and Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a lifelong member of Cleveland Co-op and was instrumental in the forming of Lake to Lake Co-op in Kiel. He was also a member of Cleveland Senior citizens.

Survivors include his wife, Lucida; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Herr of Route 1, Newton, and Frederick and Kathleen Herr of Osman; two
daughters, Mrs. Leander (Clarissa) Bugs of Milwaukee and Sister Marilyn of Bear Creek; five sisters, Mrs. Angeline Rollmann of St. Nazianz, Mrs. Leona Wagner of Cleveland, Mrs. Armella Sullivan of Osman, Mrs. Harvey Schmidt of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Nerine Baumann of El Monte, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Sunday where a wake service will be at 8 p.m.
