While he slept, a broad shouldered country boy from Hooper, Utah, passed into the next life. Born in Ogden, Utah to Edwin James Parker and Grace Elizabeth Hull, George’s boyhood was spent in Hooper, surrounded by a large extended family. While growing to manhood, his sharp intellect and good character won him an appointment to the Naval Academy at Annapolis. Leaving Annapolis, he served a mission for the LDS Church in the British Isles from 1948-1950. While in England, he met his bride, Audrey Mealy, and they were married on May 10, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Working as a civil engineer and draftsman, he joined Hercules Corp and graduated from Weber State University with a degree in mathematics. A rocket scientist, he designed motors for several different missile system. At the end of career, he returns to the British Isles and live in Scotland for three years. Here he fell in love with the people and culture that form a large part of his heritage. Following retirement, combined with his mathematical knowledge and his innate teaching ability, George tutored students in the Davis County School District. Well respected for his knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ and his willingness to share his testimony, he served faithful in the LDS Church. He was most noted as a gospel doctrine teacher. Survivors include his wife, Audrey, and their four sons, Robert (Debra), Stephen (Laura) David (Shelley) and Alan (Kimberly), his brother James (Beverly), 18 grandchildren: Andrew, Shauna, William, Catherine, Patrick, Edwin, Elizabeth, Anita, Geoffrey, Douglas, Steffanie, Aaron, Jonathan, Daniel, Harrison, Rebecca, Angelica, Jessica and two great grandchildren Parker and Guenevere. George was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Elizabeth Anne.
