Larry G. Peters
Larry G. Peters, 65, of Cabot died Friday at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights.
Born Nov. 11, 1938, in Boggsville, Armstrong County, he was the son of Ernest R. and Rozella I. Ewing Peters.
He was a hydraulic specialist and machinist at Armco-Butler Works and retired in 1997 after 38 years. He also was an instructor of hydraulics at Armco and continued teaching after his retirement. He was an avid race fan and was the owner of Peters Automotive and Larry Peters Racing. He also enjoyed working on cars for other people.
He was a lifelong active member of Zion United Methodist Church, where he belonged to the choir. He also belonged to the Brotherhood, Sarver Community Choir, and the Full Gospel Business Association. He was a volunteer for the Praise Full Gospel Fellowship Food Bank.
Surviving are a son, Steve Peters of Connoquenessing; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Teri) Black of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Gary (Shelly) Bastin of Greensburg; two brothers, William Peters of Sarver and Robert Peters of Cabot; a sister, Mrs. Ronald (Diane) Langford of Ligonier; and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are his former wife of 43 years, Carol Burtner Peters of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.
A brother preceded him in death.
PETERS - Friends of Larry G. Peters, who died Friday, June 18, 2004, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald Kosecki officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
Memorial donations may be made to Praise Full Gospel Fellowship Food Bank, c/o Ron Kosecki, P.O. Box 216 Cabot, PA 16023.
