George Henry Martin, 91, of Boonville, Ind., passed away Monday evening at St. Mary's Warrick Hospital.
George was born June 29, 1921, to Dr. Charles F. and Adeline Louisa Matilda Nordhorn Martin in his father's Martin's Emergency Hospital. George joined the family with sisters Clara Ruth (Bishop) Nelson, Ruby Matilda Martin, Laura Francis Louisa Martin, and brother Charles Willard (Mable) Martin all of whom proceeded him in death.

George married Ruth Taylor, daughter of Orville and Martha Taylor on July 18, 1942. He was drafted into the U.S. Army within the month, serving at Riley Hospital in Springfield, MO, and later in the Philippines until his discharge in 1946. He retired from Amax Wright Mine in 1983.

A lifetime member of Main Street General Baptist Church, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at the age of 10. He was ordained a Deacon and served from 1954 to 1994. George also taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and served on various church and GB Brotherhood boards.
