John Francis Taggart, age 84, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital, Wayne. Mr. Taggart was born July 24, 1928 in New York, NY the son of the late John and the late Mary (McGurk) Taggart. He lived in Wayne and was a Korean War Army veteran. Mr. Taggart retired from Con Edison in NY where he was a chemical engineer for 41 years. Mr. Taggart was a member of Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church and the Wayne Sportsmen.
Mr. Taggart is the beloved husband of 62 years Lillian(McGlew) Taggart; loving father of John K., Thomas, the late James, Eileen Hikichi, Noreen Taggart, Mary Taggart, Kathleen Taggart and Patricia Taggart; devoted grandfather of Shawn, Danny, Christopher, Brennan, Jenna , Macey and Michael; and dear brother of Ray, Brian, Dennis, Patricia Jaffe and Maureen Rohan;
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m.
The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 630 Valley Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Msgr. Chris DiLella.
Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
