PAULINE H. JANCARICH MILLER, IN Pauline H. Jancarich, age 87, a longtime resident of Miller, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2009. She was born on October 31, 1921 in Gary, IN, the daughter of George and Suzanna Gasper. She was a graduate of Emerson High School and then attended business school. She was married to Frank Jancarich on October 12, 1957 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Gary. Pauline worked for US Steel for over 45 years. She had been active with the US Steel Chorus and the Goodfellows Club of US Steel. Pauline was an avid bowler and a member of a sorority who helped raise funds for St. Jude Children's Hospital. She was a wonderful wife, sister and friend to all. Pauline is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Frank Jancarich of Miller; sisters: Margaret MacDonald of St. Cloud, FL and Mary Ann (Pete) Billick of Miller; brother, Thomas Gasper of Chicago, IL; numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers: John, George and Albert Gasper. A visitation for Pauline Jancarich will be held from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with a prayer service being offered at 3:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2009 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 6060 Miller Avenue, Miller with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Father Thomas Mischler officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville. Memorials in Pauline's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.
