Jeffrey Karl Edmondson, 64, of Panama City Beach, FL, died November 7, 2012.
His funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church with entombment to follow at Crown Hill Mausoleum. The Reverends Joseph Hagberg and Jay Weldon will officiate.
The son of an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, Mr. Edmondson lived all over the world before residing with his family in Georgia.
He was a 1966 graduate of Albany High School and a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Master's Degree in history. From 1976 to 1981 he was a history teacher, football coach and girls basketball coach at Westover high school in Albany. Mr. Edmondson went onto work for Abbott Labs where he was a district manager with 29 years of service before retiring. Having vacationed in Panama City Beach since 1976, Mr. Edmondson moved there from Marietta, GA two years ago. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church where he taught Sunday School. He was an active member of the Rosemary Beach Racquet Club, and in his earlier years was a qualified USPTA tennis pro. Mr. Edmondson served as vice president of the Bid-A-Wee Residential Community.
Mr. Edmondson is survived by his wife: Debbie Edmondson, Panama City Beach, FL; daughters: Rebecca Edmondson, Brooklyn, New York, Jenny Gillis and her husband Scott, Eufaula, AL, Katie Edmondson, Panama City Beach, FL; grandson: James Gillis, Eufaula, AL.
