Walter Raymor:'ld (Bud) LaJoie, Jr.
Caro
Passed away Tuesday Febuary 7, 2006 at Tuscola County Medical Facility in Caro, at the
age of 81. He was born June 18, 1924 in Gagetown, the son of Walter Raymond (Ray) and
Ellen Louise (Walsh) LaJoie, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Caro.
When he was just a kid he laid tile and worked with the thrashing machine with his grandfather
and father. Then he went up to Kenross and worked on the Air Force Base, then to California
and worked in the shipyards. Bud was at Normandy during the invasion in World War II. Then
he worked at Ford Motor Company in Detroit. In 1955 he went to work at the Michigan Sugar
Company and retired from there in 1985.
Bud is surivied by two sons and a daughter, Wayne Charles LaJoie of Florida, Marie Faye
(James) Koch of Frankenmuth and James Rodgers laJoie of Caro; two granddaughters, Ashley
Marie Koch and Andrea Lynn LaJoie; five sisters and five brothers, Margaret Louise Kemp,
Edward John (Peggy) laJoie, George Arthur laJoie, Donald Gene (Barb) LaJoie, Charles
James (Bev) LaJoie, Robert Lee (Maxine) Lajoie, Esther Ellen (John) Smith, all of Caro,
Bernice Marie Bashton of New Mexico, Maryellen Jane (Darrel) Asay of Colorado and Rose
Ann Eileen LaJoie of Colorado.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Raymond (Ray) LaJoie, Sr. 9-13-1990 and
Ellen Louise LaJoie 7-1-1985, a sister Joyce Elaine Plillips 5-3-1966 and a brother Thomas
Joseph LaJoie 8-9-1971
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Darlene Enos for the care given to Walter
and family. It was most appreciated.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a grave side memorial service in the spring.
Arrangements were made by Briggs Trenerry Funeral Chapel of Akron.

Six Leave Tuscola
Today for Fort Custer

Six men will leave Tuscola County today for
induction into the Army at Fort Custer.
They are:
Victor Becker, Caro.
Joseph LaVigne, Caro.
WHmer Pickleman, Vassar.
Edward Miklaszewski, Kingston.
Walter Lajoie, Caro.
Orlin Jones, Caro.
A group will leave Tuscola for Detroit on
May 27 for their finalphysical examinations
previous to induction.
The county draft office at Caro is operating
on Eastern War Time (fast time). The office
opens at 9:00 a. m. and closes at 4:40 p. m.
