Mrs. Edna Delphine Thomas of Frankfort,
Kansas passed away at Dechairo Hospital
in Westmoreland, Kansas. She was
seventy-five years old.
She was born to Arthur Henry and
Jennie Valentine (Werner) Nuzman at
Soldier, Kansas on October 6, 1912.
Delphine attended schools at Centralia,
Waterville and Frankfort, Kansas. After
graduating from Frankfort High School
in 1933.
On January 1, 1940 she was married to
Ted Thomas at the Kings Highway
Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
They were the parents of four children.
Mrs. Thomas worked as a registered
nurse in hospitals in Kansas City,
Missouri, Alton, Illinois, Louisville,
Kentucky and Marysville, Kansas for
forty-three years. Later she was
Administrator for Mary Marshall
Manor in Marysville before she retired.
She was a member of the United
Methodist Church in Frankfort since
1924.
Delphine loved her family and was a
proud of each member. She also very
much enjoyed the music of the church.
She was preceded in death by her
Son, James Arthur Thomas in 1966,
and a granddaughter, Kimberly Sue
Thomas.
Survivors include he husband Ted
Thomas, Frankfort, Kansas; two
daughters, Mrs. Joyce Ann Rethman,
Denver, Colorado and Mrs. Janet
Preston, Greeley, Colorado; one son,
John David Thomas, Frankfort, Kansas;
a sister, Mrs. Lorraine Nuzman Crawford,
Oakland, Oregon; ten grandchildren; one
great-granddaughter and many nieces and
Nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday,
April 4, 1988 at 1:00 p.m. in the United
Methodist Church in Frankfort, Reverend
John Burgreen officiated.
Vocalist, Lorene Shearer accompanied by
Cheryl Shepherd sang a medley of
"Because He Lives", "He Touched Me",
"Family of God" and "Turn Your Eyes
Upon Jesus".
Pallbearers were Paul Holenbeck, Harold
Pittenger, Hank Sisk, Bob Jones, Les
Shearer, Willard Tilley and Joe Robinson.

Burial was in Frankfort Cemetery
