Elizabeth was born in Brandbu, Gran, Oppland, Norway on the Egge farm, near the 3 Kjos Farms. Nils Kjos at the upper Kjos farm was previously married, and after his first wife Anne Andersdatter Solberg (1797-3 Apr 1828) died, he married Elizabeth Johansdr Egge. Nils Olsen Kjos died 6 Jan 1865, after which his wife Elizabeth immigrated to Spring Grove, Minnesota with her son Anders Nielsen Kjos.
