RETIRED MINISTER DIES

Special to the Gazette: Council Grove, Jan. 20--Dr. G. W. Martin, 90, a retired Methodist minister, died early Friday morning at his home in Council Grove.

Dr. Martin had spent many years at (sic) a teacher, serving as superintendent of schools in several Kansas towns. Later he held the chair of Greek at both Baker university, Baldwin, and Southwestern, college, Winfield.

After entering the ministry Dr. Martin held pastorates in Perry, Enid, Tulsa, Shawnee and Nomata, Okla. In Kansas he served churches at Concordia and Beloit, and also at Macomb, Ill.

Surviving Dr. Martin is his wife, Louise A. Martin, one son, A. J. Martin, of Okemah, Okla., and one daughter, Mrs. P. C. Smith, of Council Grove. There are two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Burial will be in Council Grove.
