Mrs. Wood was born July 13, 1928 in Lake Worth, Florida, as an only child to the late Dr. Alfred Charles Haughton and Violet Marie Ouellette Haughton. She grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida and attended the Dubois Academy, Bob Jones University in South Carolina, and earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade at Berkshire Elementary for 22 years. She was a church organist, pianist, and Sunday School teacher for over 40 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Murray, Kentucky.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin J. Wood to whom she married May 13, 1956; two daughters, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Murray, Kentucky; son, Dr. Edwin Wood of Arlington, Texas; step brother of West Palm Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Inman and Dr. Edwin Wood officiating. The burial will follow
