James L. "Jimbo" Maness, age 51, of Stockbridge, GA. died Friday, June 22, 2007. He was born in Pennington Gap, VA, grew up in Cincinnati, OH and lived in Orlando, FL prior to moving to Stockbridge. Jim loved life. He was a champion bowler having rolled several perfect games, and proudly wore his 300 ring. Jim was also an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed trips to the gambling boats with family and friends. He would challenge anyone who would play to a game of golf, billiards or ping pong. He made every effort to attend family reunions and social gatherings, always telling stories and jokes. Jim was a local businessman. He owned and operated two trucking businesses, Jimbo Trucking LLC and Hall Transportation LLC. He was in the trucking business over 20 years. Jim touched many, many lives. He was a best friend to many people and never met a stranger. Mr. Maness is survived by his wife, Michele A. Buchanan-Maness of Stockbridge, children Kimberly D. Maness and James L. Maness, Jr., both of Greensburg, IN, Brian N. Brannon, Misawa, Japan, Allison M. Brannon of Atlanta, Lynette D. Maness and Sean M. Maness, both of Tampa, FL, and Jenna M. Saunders of Stockbridge, mother Georgia Mae (Cleusman) Wooden, Noblesville, IN, brothers Gary L. Maness of Cincinnati, OH and Scott B. Maness of Kennsaw, GA , sister Melissa K. Curtis, Fishers, IN and many nieces, nephews and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, William Howard Maness and step-father Paul F. Wooden.
