Evalyn M. Linaweaver, 85 of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family members.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Lansing Kansas with Father William McEvoy officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Belden Larkin Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Evalyn was born March 28, 1927 in Leavenworth, Kansas, the daughter of Leo Louis and Edna Louise (Tarry) Fink. She married Carl William Linaweaver on November 3, 1946 at St. Joseph of the Valley Catholic Church in Leavenworth, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1983. Evalyn enjoyed sewing and sown wedding dresses and outfits for several family members and friends through out her years. She worked at St. John's Hospital for 30 years retiring in 1983. She also enjoyed her grandchildren including making each special outfits. Evalyn was a longtime member of the Altar Society and Eagle's #55. She is survived by two sons; Gary Linaweaver and his companion Barbara and Dennis Linaweaver and his wife Gayla all of Lansing, Kansas, two daughters; Sandy and her husband Tom Fitzmaurice and Carleen Gering and her husband Martin all of Atchison, Kansas, two brothers; Al Fink and his wife Margie of Leavenworth, and Merlin Fink and his wife Mary Louise of Elroy, Arizona, three sisters; Regina Aaron and her husband Bill and Eileen and her husband Willy Wilk both of Leavenworth, and Angela Forge and her husband Dale of Manhattan, Kansas, seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter, a sister in law, Patty Fink of Leavenworth Kansas, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; Gerald and Anthony Fink.
Memorials in her name may be direct to St. Benedict's Abbey or St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
