"The News-Journal," May 11, 1933:
Mrs. Josephine Pepper, 68 years old, wife of J. G. Pepper, of this city, died at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning, May 4, at her home. Mrs. Pepper was born in Green County December 30, 1864, daughter of the late John and Louie [Belona] Towns Larimore, and lived an honest, upright life.
She was a member of the local Baptist church.

Deceased is survived by her husband, J. G. Pepper; one son, Garnett L. Pepper; and two sisters, Mrs. D. H. Thomas and Mrs. William Elmore.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Beech Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. J. L. Robinson. Burial was in the Beech Grove cemetery.

Messrs. Claude Thomas, W. B. Money, H. R. Skaggs, Ed Larimore, Thurman Roberts and Herbert Reed were pallbearers. The flower girls were Misses Cleo Tucker, Melcena Tucker, Mae Ratcliffe, Delia Cox, and Jessie Russell and Mesdames Crawford Strader, T. F. Hamilton and Thurman Roberts.
