Bobby Risenhoover was born August 13, 1937 in Quinton, Oklahoma to Benjamin Risenhoover and Stella Lorine (Ginn) Risenhoover. Bob went to be with our Lord on October 31, 2012 in Checotah, Oklahoma. Bob was preceded in death by his father, his mother and one sister, Paulette. Bob was retired from the carpentry business. He also played professional baseball for the San Diego Padres and the Cincinnati Reds. While playing professional baseball, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Bob leaves behind Donna and C.T., his beloved dog, of the home; three daughters, Julie Dupuis, Tammy Simmons and Mellissa Risenhoover, all of South Carolina; three step-daughters, Cindy Miner, Tammy Moore and Gina Teeter and two step-sons, Perry Moore and Jerry Moore; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Other survivors include three brothers and their spouses, Earnest and Doris Risenhoover, Wendy and Sue Risenhoover and Harold and Sharon Risenhoover as well as five sisters and their spouses, Bertha Harris, Dorothy and Jim Mansfield, Frankie Welton, Linda Risenhoover and Sandy and Pat Garrett and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. Bob was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed "tinkering" in his workshop as well as watching OU football games. Friends may wish to remember Bob by making memorials to First Free Will Baptist Church, Attn: Family Life Center, 713 N. Broadway St., Checotah, OK 74426. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Montgomery officiating. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Checotah Funeral & Cremation Service.
