He moved with his parents to Wisconsin and later to Clear Lake, Ia., where he was a telegraph operator for a number of years. In 1883 he settles in Letcher where he made his home until the time of his death.
He was united in marriage to Eliza Kavanagh on April 30, 1892 and to this union five children were born.
Surviving him are his widow and children, Julia, James, Eugene and Leo of Letcher, and Mrs. Marie Morgan and two granddaughters of Mitchell; four brothers, Martin, Letcher; William, Seneca; Edward, Aberdeen; Thomas of Pasadena, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. M.E. Stevens of Huron.
Funeral services were held in the Letcher Catholic church April 13 with interment at Calvary cemetery in Mitchell.
