Merle Richard "Bub" Burns Jr. age 69 of Brainerd died on November 11, 2012 at the Harmony House in Brainerd. He was born on February 5, 1943 in Morris to Merle and DeMaris (Sachs) Burns Sr. He married Anita Smith Albie in Brainerd on August 10, 1996. With this marriage Merle welcomed Anita's family as his own. Merle graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School Class of 1961. He was an Army veteran serving during Vietnam. He was a retired trucker serving the industry for 47 years. He drove for International Transport, Schneider Transport, Midwest Transport and retired from Genmar Transportation, Little Falls. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Crosby and the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton. He was an avid Smear player. Survivors include his wife, Anita; 1 son, James "Jamie" (Jill) Albie of Staples; 1 daughter, Tricia (Craig) Warner of Brainerd; 1 brother, Herman Burns of Ironton; 3 beloved grandchildren, Kayla, Krista and Sophie; nephew, Michael (Jenny) Burns and their children, Katie and Ella; niece, Michelle Watson and her child Cuyler. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be 11 am on Saturday, November 17th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Military Honors will be given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post. If so desired memorial are preferred to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Crosby; Harmony House, Brainerd or the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby
