Sister Josephine Cucuzzella, MPF, 92 died Sunday Nov 11 2012 at St. Joseph Hall, Villa Walsh, Morristown, NJ.Viewing will be held Sat. Nov. 17th 2012 from 9am until 11:00 am in the St. Lucy Chapel at Villa Walsh, Morristown NJ followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 AM. Internment will be at Ave Maria Cemetery Villa Walsh. Born in Newark NJ Sr. Josephine entered the Religious Teachers Filippini in 1934. She received the habit in 1936, and made her religious profession in 1939. She was awarded a BA degree in social studies from Georgian Court University, Lakewood NJ. and a MA, with a major in social studies and minor in English from Columbia University, New York. Sr. Josephine taught the upper grades at Most Holy Rosary, Perth Amboy, NJ. St Mary of Mount Virgin, New Brunswick, NJ. Holy Spirit, Pequannock, NJ. Our Lady of the Assumption, Bayonne, NJ.Our Lady of Mercy Park Ridge, NJ St. Peter the Apostle, River Edge, NJ St. Anthony, Union City, NJ. St. Bartholomew, Scotch Plains, NJ. Villa Walsh, Morristown. NJ. Sister Josephine also taught high school at Villa Victoria Academy, Ewing, NJ St. Anthony, Bristol Conn.and St. Anthony Dunmore, PA. Sister Josephine retired in 1991 at the Mother House, Villa Walsh, Morristown, NJ and in 2005 she became a resident at the Saint Joseph Hall Infirmary, Villa Walsh. Sister Josephine is survived by her sister, Terry Shanahan, her brother, Mario Cucuzzalla, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ann (Santora) Cucuzzlla, and her sisters, Marian LaSalle and Susan Vasquez. Sister Josephine was a faithful daughter of St. Lucy Filippini.
