Hedgeman Day (spelled many ways Hedgman, Hedgmon, etc.) is the second to the last son of Samuel and Margaret COHAGEN Day's eight known children. He was born in Pendleton County, now West Virginia. Hedgeman was not in any Day family will, but was documented by numerous family members.

A family story (and I will state there are many, many Day family stories that have not been documented and some that have been proven false, but equally as many that have lead the way to discovery of our family past) is that Hedgeman Triplett Day was named after a Revolutionary War soldier and friend of his father's. This may be true as there is a Hedgeman Triplett that was an officer in the Revolution, from Culpepper County, but we will never really know.

The 1820, Ross County, Ohio, Census shows Margaret Cohagen Day is a widow and living with her are sons Hedgeman and Samuel Owen and daughter Rebecca.

Hedgeman married Martha Cline (Klein) 4 MAR 1824, Ross County, Ohio and to this union were born seven children that grew to maturity.
