From Kendra:
Today I am most thankful for the greatest man I ever knew. God took you away from me last night and as unfair as that is and how I can't understand it your looking down on me. I'm thankful for the last day i got to spend with you. Holding you and loving you. I don't understand why you could leave before we bought our house with your man cave, or painted our bathroom budwieser red. I don't understand how you could leave me before we got married, before we had the babies we talked about constantly. I'm grateful for that short time. I'll miss you forever even though as i cry these tears i still don't understand how you won't walk through them doors right now and make everything okay. You made everything okay in my life for 15 months. I don't know how it will ever be okay. I'm thankful for the life you gave me. You will still always be my forever love.

Note: Jason and Kendra were to sign the loan papers on their much loved country home Friday, Jason was killed Thursday. They were planning an Oct. 2013 wedding.

HARTFORD - A 23-year-old man was killed Thursday when a 4-ton tugboat propeller fell onto him and knocked him into the Mississippi River. The accident was called out around 5:15 p.m. Thursday at National Maintenance and Repair, a marine transport repair company in Hartford. Hartford Fire Chief Dave Owens says the man was a dry-dock worker at National Maintenance, which serves the river and rail industries. Owens said another worker pulled the man from the water after the accident Thursday evening. The workers were trying to resuscitate him when rescue crews arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The man's name hasn't been released, pending notification of relatives.
Owens says the worker had been standing about five feet away from the water, which was below the dry-dock surface, when the accident happened. National Maintenance and Repair is located in the 400 block of South Hawthorne Street. An autopsy conducted this morning indicated that the decedent died as a result of blunt force trauma to the pelvis. The Hartford Police Department and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating as well.
