and Happy Jack Road in Smith Co.Tx. His mother was Lewraney

his grand father: John Kirkley born 1780 in Chesterfield, SC.
John is buried at Hopewell Cem. Tx.

During the Civil War, William worked as a Texas CSA militia guard at Camp Ford near Tyler, TX. (at the time he was 15 years old and was not allow in the regular military)

he had a older brother: Johnny Kirkley (Johnny served in the regular CSA, in Arkansas and Louisiana.
he had a older sister: Susana Kirkley (she was raped and murdered by three men near Hopewell in the late 1870's.
