Funeral services for Raymond B. Weiler, who died Tuesday at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland, after a lingering illness, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lesley Marks Funeral Home. The Rev. George Jenkins, pastor of First Methodist Church at Glen Carbon, will officiate.
Mr. Weiler, 58, was an employee of the Glen Carbon Construction Company.
A lifelong Glen Carbon resident, Mr. Weiler was born Feb. 25, 1908. His parents, Ben and Bell Wolf Weiler, are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Louise Bee, whom he married Sept. 28, 1929 at the Edwardsville First Presbyterian Church; four sons and three daughters, Mrs. James (Norma) Gardner and Raymond K. Weiler of Route 4, Ralph E., Mark, Aaron S. and Miss Mary Kathleen Weiler, all of Glen Carbon, and Mrs. Charles (Rosalie) Tucker of Edwardsville; and 10 grandchildren.
Other survivors are three brothers and five sisters: Kermit and Edward Weiler, Mrs. Henry (Lucille) Hoerchler, Mrs. Charles (Hilda) Kovarik and Mrs. William (Isabel) Rasplica, all of Glen Carbon, George Weiler of Rockford, Mrs. Louise Olinda Ahlmeyer of Marine and Mrs. William (Katherine) Borchwardt of Edwardsville. One sister is deceased.
Mr. Weiler was a member of the First Methodist Church, Harry G. Seaton Post 435 of the American Legion and Laborers Local, all of Glen Carbon.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in the Valley View Gardens of Memory.
