OBITUARY
Mr. George Abbott passed from this life when died October 13th. Mr. Abbott was a pioneer resident of Kilkenny Township living in that community nearly fifty years. He reached the age of 73 years, seven months and four days.
Mr. Abbott was born March 4th, 1864, son of Mr. Fred and Mrs. Harriet Abbott of Morristown. At the age of two years, his mother died. He then went to live with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ripley. He remained with them until young manhood. At this time he started farming in Kilkenny Township.
On May 26, 1917, he was united in marriage to Mary J. Smith. They resided on a farm near Sabre Lake until Mrs. Abbott's death on March 19, 1931. Since that date, Mr. Abbott made his home with his step-daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Hermel.
Funeral services were held October 15th at the home and the U. B. Church, Rev. Busse officiating. Interment was at the cemetery in Elysian. The pallbearers were W, Hermel, Ralph Burgess, John Peach, Clem Gish, Vincent Brown and Marion Daniels.
He is survived by a sister in California, two cousins, Robert Ripley of Le Center and Mead Ripley of Spooner, Wisconsin, and a step daughter, Mrs. John Hermel of Kilkenny. His passing is deeply mourned by his relatives and friends.
