BOB BLUNDELL

Bob Blundell, 82, passed away on November 15, 2012. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in Plains/Yoakum County Cemetery. Personal services have been entrusted to Plains Memorial Chapel/Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors of Seagraves.

He was born January 12, 1930 to Jewel and Lee Blundell in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Bob, lovingly referred to as "Sweet ‘Ole Bob", was a great guy who had a heart of gold and treated everyone he met with a special kind of love and friendship. Memories of him will be cherished and greatly missed by all who knew him.

Bob served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was awarded the "Distinguished Flying Service Award" with Gold clusters for 55 missions over North Korea.

He married the love of his life, Billie Guetersloh on July 19, 1952. Most of their married life was spent in Plains, Texas.

He was a member of the American Legion, charter member of Yoakum County Golf Club, member of Plains United Methodist Church, and an avid sports fan.

He leaves behind his wife Billie of Raider Ranch, two sons, Bob Blundell Jr. and wife Judi of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Chris Blundell and wife Vicki of Plains. He is also survived by his beloved granddaughter, Krystle and husband, Marte Pierce, his "golfing buddy grandson" Kelsey Blundell, his great-grandson Cooper Pierce, granddaughter, Allison and husband Keith Counts and great grandchildren Kinley and Kooper Counts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mickey Blundell, and brother-in-law Roy Guetersloh.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Raider Ranch and Interim Hospice of Lubbock for their special kind of love and care.
