Mrs. Helen M. Watters, 52, St. Helen, died in Grayling on Thursday, Sept. 9, 1976, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A former Howell resident, Mrs. Watters was born Dec. 18, 1923 in Petersburg, a daughter of Emery O. and Nellie Mae (Hoffman) Brockway. She was married to Richard N. Watters who preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1967.

She moved to St. Helen in 1966 from Howell. She was activities director for Ogemaw Valley Extended Care Facilities in Rose City.

Survivors include two sons, Philip O. of Brighton and Richard N. of Howell; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Sandersfield of Rose City; seven grandchildren; her father, Emery O. Brockway of Petersburg; two brothers, Ellsworth and Walter Brockway of Petersburg; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Watters of Cohoctah, Mrs. Dorothy Kertz and Mrs. Catherine Goode, both of Petersburg; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn Brockway, also of Petersburg.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 13, from the MacDonald Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald W. Williams, past of the First Baptist Church, Howell, officiating.

Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Howell.
