BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH:
John Nelson Dakin was the son of John Dakin and Susan Anna (Laird) Dakin. On October 20, 1864, he married Ann Stough in Marshall County Iowa. She was the daughter of William and Angeline (Hammond) Stough.

Together, they had two children, Nettah "Nettie" A. Dakin, born in 1865, and Delia Dakin, born in 1871. Nettah married Rollin A. Wolcott and had 7 children. Delia married Albert Mote and had 5 children.

The Dakin family originated with Thomas Dakin, who was born May, 1624 in Derbyshire, England. More information about the Dakin family can be found in DESCENDANTS OF THOMAS DAKIN by Albert H. Dakin, Rutland VT, c. 1948.
