Dr Webert was born in Elk Mound and graduated from Menomonie High School. He clerked for two years before entering the Chicago College of Dental Surgery where he received his degree in 1905. He served as president of the Northwest District Dental Society in 1918.

He served as a member of the Board of Education at Stanley and also served on the Board of Trustees of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a master of the Masonic Lodge No. 273 and a past worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

He married Mabel McKenzie in 1908. One son, James, died in 1947 after completing a degree in dentistry at Northwestern University in 1941. He had served in the Navy for five and a half years during World War II. A daughter, Luverne, died when she was 10. A daughter, Lura Mae, married Dr W.A. Wilcox and lived in Minneapolis.
