Freeman L. Dempsey, 70, of Dutch Hill, Titusville RD 3, died at the Titusville Hospital at 2:30 am yesterday. He suffered a heart attack last Sunday and had been in the hospital since. He was born Feb. 25, 1889, in Oakland Township, son of Andrew J. and Louella Walls Dempsey.
In 1906 at Bemis Point, NY, he married Blanche Taylor, who died July 13, 1930.
He was a crane operator for a number of years at the Forge Works Division of Struthers Wells Corps, retiring several years ago. He was a member of the FO Eagles lodge.
Surviving are children, Roy Dempsey of Centerville RD 3, Mrs. Mildred Prichard of Cooperstown RD 1, Frank A. Dempsey of Titusville, Morris W. Dempsey of Collinsville, OK, and Lewis C. Dempsey of Philadelphia; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frances Hubbell of Jensen Beach, FL. Deceased is a daughter, Myrtle E. Dempsey, who died in February, 1922, at the age of 5.
Services will be at 1 pm Saturday at Tracy Home of Funerals with Rev. Harold Sterner officiating. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery.
