Death by drowning last Fri. of two little girls visiting Two Rivers –
11-yr. old Mabel Garbes of Milwaukee and 10-yr. old Beatrice Pearson of St. Paul.
They ventured out upon a boom and fell into the river. A young man, Henry Schultz, heard their cries and jumped in to help but sank with them. The bodies were eventually found by men from the lifesaving station.
