John C. Miller, 56, Stayton, Ore., formerly of Sioux Falls. died Friday in Black River, Wis.

He was born at Beresford, SD and later moved to Parker, SD. He entered World War II as a turret gunner, and after his discharge in 1946, he returned to South Dakota, settling in Sioux Falls. He married Kathryn Campbell, September 16, 1963. He was employed by John Morrell & Co. for 21 years as a truck driver until 1976 when he became a truck owner-operator for Sammons Trucking Company of Missoula, Mont.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, John "Corky" and Steve, both of Sioux Falls; three daughters, Sharon Rettke, Orange City, Iowa; Merrie Miller, Sioux Falls; Gloria Paul, Crooks, SD; six grandchildren; three sisters. Margaret Finn, Parker, Dorothy Rasmussen, Sioux City, Iowa. and Mrs. Lorraine Staum, Elk Point. S.D.
